What is the relationship between homes and domestic objects? In the digital age we share imagery which allows us to transform visual language into advanced understanding. Traditional materials and crafts evoke childhood memories.
In this work I manipulated photos of family members, first on paper and then digitally, and then printed them onto fabric which I upholstered onto chairs that once belonged to a relative.
A lot of faces are hidden in these portraits which shows how much we influence each other in the family and daily life, and how much we are connected to each other in decisions we make in our lives. The traditional flower-patterned fabrics laid out behind the chairs portray each person's different personality, almost like DNA, to represent individuality.
